The Physical Therapy Unit at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy provides access to the following activities and therapies:
- Exercise therapy for physical activation (e.g., morning activation, circulatory measures)
- Body awareness and exercise therapy groups (e.g., motion analysis according to C. Rick) These therapies address physical symptoms associated with mental-health and psychiatric disorders, such as body image disorders in psychoses, psychosomatic disorders and eating disorders, pain symptoms in somatoform disorders, as well as vegetative disorders in the context of depression and anxiety disorders
- Relaxation therapy utilizing progressive muscle relaxation
- Activation, relaxation, body awareness, exercise therapy and reconditioning are used as needed in the form of individual therapy, particularly for more intensive care of patients with the above-mentioned disorders and for patients with catatonic symptoms. In addition, physiotherapy at the psychiatric intermediate care unit 04Ci implements prophylactic measures (contracture, thrombosis, pneumonia and decubitus prophylaxis).
- Physical rehabilitation and reconditioning for injuries and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system such as after polytrauma, after suicide attempt or in chronic spinal disorders
- Concentrative movement therapy is offered at the psychosomatic ward
