The psychiatric nursing service provides care and support for people in serious, disease-related life crises. We aim to provide empathetic care, while striving to maintain the highest possible degree of autonomy for the patient. We aim to provide the patient with security and to foster self-confidence, as well as confidence in the treatment. Nursing supports medical treatment and contributes significantly to reaching of treatment goals as well as to how the treatment is subjectively experienced by the patient.
Depending on the severity of symptoms, patients may need significant support in their activities of daily life. Patients may need support in managing their own health and safety. Intensive psychiatric care is provided if necessary.
In addition to coping with psychiatric problems, nursing also attends to somatic problems. Nursing strives to create a milieu in which patients can experience security, relief and relaxation. Our nursing staff are available around the clock to provide support and are trained to recognize and address mental and physical crises. We also offer a range of activities and groups that support emotional and cognitive improvement as well as independence. Our aim is to enable affected persons by building upon existing skills.
The organizational concept of individual care ensures that every patient has a personal nursing contact person for the duration of their stay at the clinic. This allows us to effectively include the patient in care decisions. The patients’ personal expectations and experience during their mental health journey can be addressed. In addition, this structure allows us to provide a safe space for patients to address highly personal or complex issues.

Nursing care includes supporting patients in their preparation for life post-discharge. During this transition period, we take the patients’ individuals resources and skills into account. Nursing support during this period, which includes support in connecting with outpatient care providers, is essential in ensuring long-term treatment response and symptom improvement.
